National Guard troops headed to border, a stop gap measure July 20, 2010 12:09 am There is a severe shortage of personnel in the US Customs and Border Protections Agency. 1200 U.S. National Guard forces will be deployed along the U.S. border with Mexico in August and will be fully trained and deployed by the end of the month to assist the border patrol in monitoring and capturing illegal immigrants crossing the2000 mile border into the United States.
