Let us honor the workers who built America, reward them and protect their rights
February 22, 2011 11:33 pm

Each worker is a tradesman with a skill franchise no different than any business.

Can he/she not command the price for that service?

Can he/she not assiciate with his fellow workers to negotiate a fair price for that service offered? To depreive these rights by law is demeaning and anti-human rights. It is particularly disturbing to blame the Unions for the ills in our country and forget the huge tax break that was given to everyone including the weathiest of the nation.

It is not surprising that I find myself holding by hands up to my head in total disbelief that those who have do not appreciate how they got that wealth with the help of those workers whom they wish to betray.

Time to protect workers' human rights.

What would you do if you met someone you liked, but what to do..?
December 31, 2010 03:38 pm
It is so natural that you meet someone you like and you freeze becasue you are anxious not to sabotage yourself by doing something stupid. Many often don't realize that they might be giving off the "I am not interested" or "let's just be friends" vibe. Here are some tips I found online and has helped me.

So the best bet is to shift your energies for a while and explore other avenues. Here are a few suggestions to help you get started:

  1. Try reaching out to friends, colleagues (and if you are really bold, family) and let them know you are interested in being fixed up. Don't be shy about telling people you are actively searching for set-ups--- meeting friends of friends is a tried and often true matchmaking technique because the matchmakers know you and have your best interests at heart.

  2. If time and budget permit, plan to take a group trip for the holidays or invest in a winter time-share with other singles. There are plenty of travel companies and cruises that cater to the single segment, including GAP Adventures, Club Med and Singles Travel International to name a few. To make sure you are paired with other singles before embarking on your journey, call the travel provider and find out who else has signed up for the getaway you are interested in booking.

  3. Try to attend a "house party" - they are more intimate, which makes introductions and conversations less forced. With the holidays just around the corner, you don't have to wait to be invited to one, just invite some friends over and encourage everyone to bring someone who is single along to the party.

  4. Consider dining out or attending the movies alone on a regular basis. You never know who will be sitting in the row in front of you or at the bar stool beside you, and there is no need to be shy about trying to strike up conversations in those situations.

  5. If you meet someone cute in the elevator at work or at the gym, just smile and say hi. You'd be surprised how far a friendly "hello" can take you today.

  6. Don't be afraid to take your efforts online.

HP's Slate could be better than iPad
April 06, 2010 12:57 pm
Slate has features such as: 1) Windows 7 driven 2) Video camera 3) USB port 4) SD card slot 5) Flash animations and more... It is nice to have a choice and do things differently!

We have lost nack for doing things different.

People have become so dispondent and they have lost the drive to do things differntly.

Remember December 1st is the Buy American Made (BAM) day. December 1 is the BAM day.

Look I am that one percent, maybe as no one has told me I am in or out, and I don't give damn. So there!

None of the politicians have a clue about jobs. They are clueless! I know!

Actually the economy is doing pretty darn good and getting more robust. If only those on the right would stop bemoaning it. Do not overheat. Careful!

With the slightest uptick in employment will come the huge flood of inflation worries.

Collective bargaining and all that is fine, but the country is broke, civil servants are getting 150% in pay and benefits compared to private sector employees.

We are taxed to our eyeballs. Federal taxes, state taxes, sales taxes, vehicle, property, estate taxes. After all that we are left with 35% of what we earn.

Good to see that the Democrats came to their senses and agreed with the Republican agenda.

Hey Sarah Palin did good in her reality show debut with Sarah Palin's Alaska. It wasn't a disaster, but just about watchable. Why expose your family like that?

Not surprising that passenger revolt is growing with pat downs and intrusive body scans. At the end of day, safety wins over inconvenience.

If I was Steve Balmer, I would't spend any of the $1.3 billion I got from selling shares in Microsoft.

Like it or hate it, the Dems are in control and so should face the piper. Right?

CSpan does an excellent job. This morning one of the guest was spot on about the cost of running the US Congress. Expenses are just out of control.

Wow! what happened to the stocks today was brewing up to that. Just ask yourselves, is your 401K looking a darn lot healthier now than two years ago or not!

I agree with Vice President Walter Mondale that President Obama should ditch the teleprompter. No one is listening anyway, it is the feelings that one projects.

Hey, Mrs Meg Whitman! I am a Republican, but I am embarassed that you can not blame yourself for hiring an illegal and blame everyone else. Shame!

Frankly, who would want to be a government employee spending your life looking in to other people's business. I understand the Republican point of view.

I find Joe Lieberman giggly and very mousy. I think he is the real reason why Al Gore lost.
added September 27, 2010 12:45 am
Few things I agree with GOP is that pay for government employee goes up when economy is strong, but unlike the private sector, IT NEVER EVER GOES DOWN! WHY?

It is time to unload, not reload. Let us live peacefully like good Christians.

Carly Fiorina was fired from her job at HP and before that she had cut 1000's staff at HP.

Carly, Meg Whitman and all the rest of them are the same. Vote for someone independent.

Carly Fiorina was fired from her job at HP. Perhaps she is better at politics! Sarah Palin thinks so.

Planning on taking a peek at the new 3D Tv's. I think it would make a huge difference watching a sports game or travel channel. It will be too pricey for now...

Tiger looked so devastated as he delivered his apology to his friends and fans. Everyone deserves a second chance, so let us leave him alone.

Avatar will be the all time high grossing movie, I think that great creative movies just deserve to be there at the top!!

Nicolas Cage might be ok but his movies suck big. Now we learn that he owes IRS $14m so someone likes his movies or that he must be a good businessman.

We wish all those who serve their country a very happy and peaceful new year.
